This is the final week of Industrial Training, can say that this training help me explore more people and knowledge in this field. Especially like what system used and mostly is how all the system connected, for example is the wires and equipment. Our equipment is mostly using the one from another country like Australia, Italy, and many more.
For example, Nurse Call System, we are using brand 'Rauland' which mean we would like to introduce to our client this product that it is usable and works, but still if the client insist on working on other brand, we have no choice but to follow up her/his desire. That is the time where the Variation Order(VO) comes in, to order the extra stuff that company don't have the stock or not the brand as expected.
In spite of just learning what engineering is, I've learned different company have different type of system to operate the business, the relationship between boss and the surbodinates, also how trainee was involved in this company, but sometimes I know it's harsh when the thing doesn't work the way we wanted even though we work for it, what we expected is just not as expect, even sometimes i saw some engineer being screwed by the boss and need to have a small chit-chat with me to stablize his emotion, to think that one day I might be the same as him can see through how hard an engineer is.....the responsibility is very high and mostly will expect the job to be done as soon as possible.
What engineer facing is the great responsibilities and how to organize in his job, life and his whole life, he has to plan for it for it will be complex if not plan properly, well I can said this is one of the thing I learned, PLAN is To make thing easier, better,faster and efficient, I know I haven't reach that level yet but alas at least this thing I learned through hard process, scold by boss and so on.
To think that working life might not be so free and without freedom, I want to grab more chances that I'm now in my university, because I need to treasure those friendship and I know ....there won't be having the second time of university life again, somehow through the internship program, I won't be able to walk through without the staff there and as well as trainee there, they give me strength to walk through these 3 month and i'm glad that I came here by thanks that I was given the chance to know them...I will surely miss them and become stronger, because future is still long way to go.

Haha...forgot have to write on blog already, now I remembered that I mention to talk about system right....So, the systems that we (DIGISTAR) been doing is the Extra Low Voltage Systems or also call it as ELV,which doesnt involve any power generation like factory and basically it's just simple, for example ah.... neh the thing you are watching right now lo, LCD SCREEN!!!! NO BIG BIG VOLTAGE INVOLVED, 240V IS MAX!
Well we don't really go and involve in how to create a LCD but rather just purchase based on client needs and just pasang it, now you are thinking....then buy LCD screen only ma, call ELV MEH??!!
No la friend.....what we doing is, we do things on low voltage system one, because the wires from the voltage sources , we are the one doing it as well , for easy understanding, we pasang the wires to connect LCD screen， easy huh?
But what I mention is ELV systems, the sub of the ELV systems are also divided into 11 types, well this is just what my company does and for so long I have only seen them doing this only, so below shows the 11 system :

So, normally TRAINEE is going to design and help to calculate the POWER, SIGNAL RECEPTION, DRAW THE CONDUIT OF ANY SYSTEMS, but frankly I'm not so lucky and always got involved in doing the CATALOG and the OPERATION AND MANUALS of the projects, duh....everything have to learn to seeing myself and try to understand it,well well now don't talk about this, see the bold words above, see the CATALOG/OPERATION AND MANUALS?? That's what I've been doing almost this 10 weeks, that's so not cool but I'm trying my best to assist the engineer , you know what I meant RITE?
Hmm... I will explain what is CATALOG 1st, now client said for example la,
"I want a CCTV ah, can ZOOM 100X, INFRARED SYSTEM, NIGHT VISIONS ONE, CAN TILT 360 DEGREE AND ALSO GOT LASER WEAPON TO KILL MY ENEMY when necessary"
Then the Sub-Con will :" WALAO EH, SO SIMPLE MEH, I THOUGHT U WANT INVINCIBLE VERSION ONE!! NEVERMIND EASY JOB LA!!"
Then ah, the Sub-Con will CO-OP with the company that do CCTV one ,well you can know that the CCTV has been produce one in their list, so basically what client want , we just then find the product that related to that SPECIFICATION and BINGO!!
But you know.....where this specification located at????
Ta-daaa!!!! In MY CATALOG MWAHAHAHAH!!!!
This is not only easy to show how the engineer going to put that thing at the building based on the building setting as well as the specification of the system, it also as a COPY for the client to know what kind of product we are going to use,for understanding, i upload a picture to let you all see CLEARLY;
Now you can see for example la, we choose SONY brand for the projector as we try to satisfied client needs, and we do need make few copies, one for us , 2nd for Main-Con, JKR , Client and most important is Consultant , they need to approved the items used in the building, remember my last post?Well without approving it, we can never use it and have to find other product.
Catalog can be found in our network but sometimes the things is just not there, so I have to find it on internet and print out for it.
2nd is OPERATION AND MANUAL also called O & M, Normally when you buy a new toy like ummm........ahh!!

It became very important when comes to ESPECIALLY the systems down, but then how is the system down? well for easy explanation, the projector I mention above, when the projector is not working , it need to be troubleshoot or repair it, now comes to the job for TECHNICIAN, He will normally have the knowledge to repair the system or the object but he wouldn't know many brand how it function RITE?? You think he is SUPERBRAND MAN meh, He need the Secret book like the Scroll to understand the SECRET of the Kung-Fu he need to know, that is the power of the OPERATION AND MANUAL , to let the one not familiar to at least familiar with it.
So it became our job to come out the manual and as usual if the manual is not in the network , we need to find it at the internet, we do not create the manual but rather prepared for it, again it must be make into few copies, one for us , 2nd for Main-Con, JKR , Client and Consultant, but this time what different is it do not need consultant to confirm because if they not approved the catalogue, there is no point finding the OPERATION AND MANUAL ALSO MA...since O &M is quite long in pages so upload it will be hassle,hahahahaha!!!!

Now it is turn out to be the 7th week already , guess all Uniten friends is having their progress in their respective industrial training hahahaha, anyhow I want to share about what I learned for this few weeks, so i will get into the introduction first. Since I was in electrical design company, basically and most importantly is that, HOW IS THE PROJECT BEGIN?
I was thinking like 'HOW LA'??Then after some time asking around the engineer, what most needed to grab a project is like HOW to design a system required, for example CCTV, where is the particular place to PUT IT?? But this is not engineer job, it was design from the other department and that is only one of the SYSTEMS, now I just explained one system for simplicity la.
Now before design, I will begin from the biggest and the utmost important thing la, our world most important PERSON in BUSINESS WORLD = CLIENT LO, from there only we get project ma, then for example again la, one of the Putrajaya building needs CCTV system but DO NOT know how to begin wo, so how? HOW? Next paragraph la;
That's where JKR (JABATAN KERJA RAYA) become the best friend for the CLIENT la, now CLIENT ask JKR for help, the CLIENT said : "Aiyo macha how la, I want to put CCTV in my house but no idea macha, susah la!!" , then JKR said : " Pang yao!! no need worry, u ASK me, I'm sure help u one, leave IT to ME!!". Now JKR become second party and go find those people can solve this problem one and announced it to every electrical engineering firm, GIVE ME YOUR IDEA!! = TENDER DRAWING(explain later la）!! Now is the most important time la, many company are joining into this to get the project so MONEY MONEY COME MA, then this come the TENDER DRAWING lo.
TENDER DRAWING is like your idea, on how la u are going to design the system for the CLIENT and follow their NEEDS too sometimes!! This idea is publish and by using AUTOCAD to draw it on the big big paper, like mahjong paper size la and depends how many floor of the building then how many paper as needed lo, then the idea is proposed to the JKR, of course $$$$ also show to JKR HOW MUCH U ARE OFFERING!!

Now now, not your company only ah, got many competent want money MONEY!!!
So for example got 3 company la, and the client request for burger, example la.....
Client request burger must have cheese, patty, mayonnaise, vegetables and chili/tomatoes sauce AND DESIGN COST MUST BE AS LOW AS POSSIBLE;
This 3 company each name is,
A = Mac Ronald
B = KFD
C = Burger Queen
For COPYRIGHT purpose, have to la, and u know what I MEANT rite??
'A' said :"My burger le got all the thing u need la I give u more , my design ok la ,so my design is worth RM1000, boleh ah?"
'B' said :"Haiya my burger got extra punya, the patty got SPICIES version one, and everything is extra also, design cost is RM 1200!!"
'C' said :”You see ah, MY burger ah, EXTRA in everything, more mayonnaise, vegetable fresh fresh one, double the patty size, better cheesy musie and chili tomato, u want it I GOT IT ANYTIME ah!! Design cost is RM 999.99 la!!”
So JKR choose the quality among all 3 of them and see the design, of course la, what I meant in those mayonnaise, chili or cheese is the BRAND of the product U can give the best but somehow la if CLIENT SAID SAMSUNG , don’t give TOSHIBA la…… like what ‘B’ mention is very wrong lo and then COMPARE the COST, see which one is the best in quality also then choose that TENDER DRAWING lo, GOT IT?!
This is the third party where I’m currently in this company right now, when the project is in hand and JKR approves our project then we get profit la, MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!
Well not always WE GET THE PROJECT ma, sometimes when we couldn’t get, so how again, HOW??? Now come to the term SUB-CON(CONTRACTOR), the one get the project call MAIN-CON(CONTRACTER), so we can sometimes became the fourth party or fifth or sixth and so on to get the job in the sense of the job is much smaller and can't gain much profit,to make it better view la, MAIN CON have to do all the installation, choose brand to support customer needs, find equipment that compatible with it, sure la the company can make profit because of many work, but u think they are superman meh, the workload sure divided to other companies so to less burden in their job, but of course the most earning one they grab already la,so the money is getting LESSER and LESSER in the end since SUB-CON SUB the work to another SUB-CON and SUB SUB SUB SUB SUB SUB until money cannot divide to the very last contractor already, BUT NO WORRIES, DIGISTAR is always 3rd or 4th one, MWAHAHAHAHA!!!!
So U see ah , for example la when student do something like homework , when u want to determine it is WRONG OR CORRECT, HOW HOW(no solution manual la,haha..)?? Ask friend may get wrong …..so ask LECTURER lo!!! This is also APPLY in engineer firm , sometimes the material used might get wrong and design might get faulty, so ASK CONSULTANT to CHECK for US la, CONSULTANT said no likey, then we have to repeat and do again, no likey again? DO AGAIN UNTIL THEY LIKEY TO GET APPROVED!!! This COP MOHOR is HARD to get because anything wrong Consultant KENA, so they have to RECONSIDER NICELY BEFORE THEY APPROVE U!!!
Ok la for now I have write the procedure I learned , next episode comes about the SYSTEMS la, I know read also tired la ,so we both rest la!!

Haha, forgot have to write on blog already, this is so weird, first time have to show what i do daily and post up to let myself and everyone to read it, anyhow, I'm currently having my intern at "Digistar"!! It is a design company and now only i know haha...
The company is near my house , yeap that's the best thing !! I thought of the distance can be reach in 5 minutes.....but after i TRIED it , estimated time reach is 15 minutes!!Just like my old days when i walk to my secondary school....the 1st day i reach the place was exciting and worry of what kind of job will assign to me as well as what people i will going to meet, anyhow i was told by HR supervisor to join as the project assistant, i was like OK......then i see what kind of job need to be done.
Well, i given a table to do my job but one thing is ..........there is NO COMPUTER, i was hoping at least aih........anyhow i got a place to do my job, hmm....initially the supervisor just give me the list of billing and the construction map of the place they currently doing now, walao eh one thing i can say is i cannot understand at all, what i study now DID NOT APPLY at all!!!!!! Now I'm so understand why many people said what we study is 1% usage only if lucky enough.......
Don't you guys agreed enough!!!!??
